Immunization and Wellness CareWellness care includes complete physical examinations, preventative health care, dental and diet recommendations, and much more. We strive to prevent illness whenever possible. The time and effort invested in prevention has rewards for both pets and owners. Our wellness programs are designed specifically for your pet's needs and include:• Comprehensive physical exam • internal parasite testing and/or strategic deworming • heartworm and flea control • vaccination program • spay and neuter package • specialized blood tests for all life stages We also recommend preventative medical care services such as preanesthetic blood screening because it enhances the safety of anesthetic procedures and provides a baseline of blood values for your pet. For more details, see our Preventive Care section. Diagnostic Imaging
The hospital offers full X-ray and ultrasound facilities on site. DentalWe provide extensive dental services for our patients including both preventive and therapeutic dental work.
Dental services provided are prophylaxis (thorough teeth
cleaning,) examination of teeth and gums post-cleaning, polish and fluoride, subgingival curettage
and root planing, therapeutic periodontal treatments, and dental extractions. Good oral health is one of the
cornerstones of preventive health care for our patients. According to the American Veterinary Dental Society,
periodontal disease is the most common disease of dogs and over 70% of cats show signs of oral disease by 3 years
of age. SurgeryIn addition to spay and neuters, many other surgeries are performed on a routine basis. If your pet needs a surgery, please call us to discuss your concerns with a doctor. In-house LaboratoryWhen your pet is ill, its a comfort to know that our on-site laboratory equipment provides rapid test results allowing fast response to your pet's needs. We also enlist the services of a regional veterinary laboratory and other specialty laboratories to provide the majority of our evaluations, including complete blood chemistries, urinalysis, parasite identification, cytology, histopathology (biopsies,) and other testing. BoardingWe strive to treat your pets like family. Our hospital has boarding facilities for cats and dogs. Cats are kept in a quiet separate area. All pets are played with and exercised daily. The hospital staff works to provide tender, loving, cuddling playtime for all. You may bring along blankets or toys to keep your pet more comfortable during their stay. Pain ManagementWe believe that complete pain management is a cornerstone of progressive veterinary care and we take measures to alleviate both acute and chronic pain. Preventive pain management for surgical procedures is tailored to the individual patient and the degree of pain expected. Chronic pain management programs for conditions like osteoarthritis involve periodic reevaluations and monitoring of the condition and organ systems. Referral ServicesWe have access to the highest quality specialty services in the East Tennessee area. As part of our commitment to your pet's care, we offer referrals when it is in your pet's best interest. |
